That's the spirit! The point of STUPID is just that: saving lives of induhviduals! And the goal of STUPID is to protect all induhviduals from harm by regulating activities that cause harm. Statistically, seatbelts save lives, and since the freedom of choice is one of the most important freedoms, it is important that people wear their seatbelts since its tough to make choices if one is dead. Of course the whole point of seatbelts is moot, since in a STUPID world there would be no cars. Just like the "Clean Air For Everyone" lobbyists fail to complete the circle, the seatbelt lobbyists left the job incomplete as well. Cars in general are unsafe, and drivers between the ages of 14 and 120 are even less reliable. If our goal is to make the world a safer place, the only sensible choice is to ban drivers in those age ranges. After all, no one should have to live in fear of being hurt by an unsafe driver. |
